Aoife & Barry
Royal Irish Yacht Club, Dublin
It was my great privilege and pleasure to be chosen to capture the Wedding of Senator Barry Ward and Aoife Ngo on August 26th, 2022. Barry and Aoife’s wedding took place at the National Maritime Museum of Ireland in Dun Laoghaire’s 180-year-old Mariners Church. The reception followed at the picturesque Royal Irish Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire.
The ceremony was held at the Mariners Church, offering a unique and historical setting. As guests gathered in awe of the majestic lighthouse, known as The Baily Optic, the atmosphere was charged with a sense of romance and wonder. The couple stood before their loved ones, surrounded by the rich maritime history that echoed throughout the church. The soft glow of natural light filtering through the church’s stained glass windows added an ethereal touch to the proceedings.
To add to the charm, the couple arrived at the reception on a boat, making it a truly memorable and special moment.
As a candid documentary wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their love story on this significant day. The setting was filled with history and maritime beauty, creating a remarkable ambiance for their celebration.
The wedding day was filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. The couple’s journey, which started years ago, was beautifully highlighted in the heartfelt vows they exchanged in front of their loved ones. Tears of joy and smiles marked the emotional ceremony in the incredible and historic venue.
The reception marquee, overlooking the sea, was adorned with elegant floral arrangements and soft lighting, reflecting the couple’s vibrant personalities. A live band played delightful music, keeping everyone dancing and celebrating the night away, creating unforgettable memories for all the while.
Capturing the genuine emotions and candid moments throughout the day was an honor for me as a photographer. The love and cherished moments shared on this sunny Saturday will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Barry, Aoife, and their loved ones. And through the timeless photographs, their love story will be preserved for years to come.
